Almost no rubber trees are used any more except in latex gloves. Four tires may require as much as two barrels of oil to produce. Almost all are synthetic compounds and steel mesh and fiberglass or carbon fiber reinforced with a steel cable each side where the tire meets the rim. Remember dispose of tires properly.
