I am looking for any scientific companies/businesses/industries in and around the Oxford area which I can approach to get work experience at for throughout this summer. Physics based would be most preferred. Does anyone know any without me randomly searching the internet to try and find some?

Suggest try REED SCIENTIFIC OXFORD. They should be able to put you in touch with people who can offer appropriate work experience and help you with contacts.
Suggest also that you consider working to get Quantum Electrodynamics [Q.E.D. theory] working for yourself. I think that it's worth the effort, particularly now that the renormalisation problem has been solved by the mathematicians.
