It all depends on finances and what you want to study. Almost any University of California campus would be really good with Berkeley and UCLA at the top of the list. Stanford is excellent but very expensive, and if you're a scientist, Cal Tech. If you're an athlete looking to go pro, USC.

For what subject? Certainly, U.C. Berkeley and Stanford are top schools. Cal Tech is good for certain areas.
