Everything sounds good except for the shirt. Unless you are wearing a black blazer or jacket over it, a WHITE shirt at a funeral is a big NO-NO. If you are not wearing a jacket, try wearing a darker color of shirt. It doesn't have to be black but it has to be dark.

I think - wear what you think is appropriate .. Not what you see on movies.
Funerals are about the celebration of a life.
Not about a fashion show.
Sum up the person that has passed away -personality wise and wear what you think is right.
Im not one for the full black outfit. Ok you may be sad but im sure the person thats died doesnt want to see you all morbid and stuff. Remember you are celebrating their life.
Enjoy the day and reflect on all the good times you may have shared with that person. A great time to catch up with old friends or relatives. Under the circumstances :)
Good luck

Yes that would be appropriate for a funeral. And I don't know where you live but if its very hot where you live your choice is perfect because a suit jacket would be unbearably hot.

That will be fine. If you have a jacket I would wear that as well. The biggest thing is you don't want to stand out and want to look respectable.

Not your birthday suite. No, seriously, what you mentioned would be good, just conventional dressing I think, to show your respects. Nothing happy and gay, as it is a say occasion.

Of course you can. It doesn't matter what you wear, it matters that you go. I wouldn't care if people wore shorts to my wake. It's the fact that they came that would matter
