Who said that? And with which right?Dear dont juge all the greeks.I can assure you that Greece is a country which has received many immigrants, people from your country, arabs, and especially all these people arabs, or people from Africa they never had problem, the opposite, they speak always well about us.
If someone said a bad worf tp you, he showed his education, it doesnt mean that the whole country or all the people of Greece are like that..
Dont forget also, how many greeks in your countries have been rich, and they have been treated well by your citizens.Dont pay attention,i give you my congratulations because you seem an honnest person who is trying to improve his life, and be sure that with the peoplke of your country(i think senegal or not?)greeks never had problem.
Unfortunately,in many countries there is this, but we have to take always the good example, not the bad ones...

1. If someone insulted you on Y!Answers, I hope you have reported them.
2. I don't think racism and xenophobia is worse in Greece than anywhere else. Think of th epercentage of Le Pen voters in France and of neo-Nazis in Germany, who even physically attack foreigners. Saying that, the French people and the German people are as a majority open-minded and democratic, but the exceptions stigmatise them.
3. In the same way, most Greeks are not racist. I know I am not, and my friends are not. Sure there are some who may be, but still the situation is not so bad, if you consider how many foreigners live and prosper in Greece.
4. As for egoist towards foreigners, I'll admit to that, but this has nothing to do with foreigners really, Greeks are egoist towards everything, even themselves. If they speak about other Greeks among themselves, you'll find out that they say worse things than what they say against any foreigners.

I wonder how you can say this things. Have you even been to greece? Do you know that the biggest industry in greece is the tourism? Do you know that in the tourist season the population of greece become dubbel? Do you think that a nation that is full of racists and egoists towards foreigners would have this many tourists coming to their country? There are so many people that come back here, years after years because thats how much they like it. The people here are warm and friendly, and since I am a foreigner in greece I have noticed that they are very interested in me and my country. Its very bad what someone told you, but its wrong to judge a whole country based on one incident!

The percentage of racists in Greece is not higher than those that live in other countries.
Additionally I must remind you that Greece has always lived with foreign popularities since the ancient years, during Byzance and until our days because of its geographical position (Greece was always a crossroad between East and West).
Foreigners were always wellcome in Greece, and hospitality (philoxenia) is one of the main characteristics of Greeks.
So with all the respect, if one person (whose identity cannot be crosschecked) has offended you, this does not mean that you may come into conclusions for a whole nation.
I understand your feelings for a certain behaviour but I consider your question as very general and in the same time I believe that your comments are unreal and unfair.

I can assure you my friend that the majority of Greeks are not racists and i am one of them who is disgusted with what this 'person' called you. I apologise if you were given that impression about Greeks. People who think like that can be from any nationality and they are just narrow minded pathetic existences. My best friend is from Nigeria and when he came to Greece with me for vacation. he was amazed with the the friendly way people treated him. Please do not judge all of us from something that someone totally insignificant said.

Dear Mamadou,
It is unfair. You misjudge because of some rude and spoiled compatriot of mine. It would be lie if I said that we have not problem with this issue. But this behavior comes from the unverified entrance illegal immigrants in my country. Thousands of Iraqi, Afghans, Africans, Iranians, etc pass our borders every year. It constitute for us, the bigest asymmetrical threat. Remark the fact that Greece is a small country with weak economy and high proportion of unemployment. All of those foreigners make the situation harder. Greeks have not any problem with foreigners (colored or not). Besides, our economy based on tourism! Under these circumstances, I think you must review your opinion.
Thank you.

All of us are egotistic cuz we just are. We're hot ****. And yes there are MANY MANY racist Greeks but that's just cuz of the history of everyone givin' **** to Greeks and invading them, copying them, etc.

That's not true, you shouldn't generallize.
There are millions of foreigners in Greece leading a decent life. Greeks are not more racists than the rest of the world.

You could have run into that bigot anywhere. I have spent a lot of time traveling in Greece and found it a warm and beautiful country filled with warm and beautiful people. Forget the idiot, boufo, and his comment. He's not worth your time and effort.
