I've been told that the Mediterranean sea doesn't have tides. Is this true and if so, why not?

there are tides...just it's a land locked semi-enclosed area so the effects of the tides are minimized....hell even bodies like the great lakes are said to have tides.....so the med sea definitely has a tide....

There are small tids.

The relative absence of tides is because the mediterranean is almost enclosed.

Except for the straits of Gib and Suez it is enclosed, together with the Black sea.

There are tides, but very small, as it's a landlocked sea with only a narrow connection to the Atlantic.

There ARE tides, but they are so small as to be almost not noticeable.
