I got really offended when someone on yahoo questions starting saying the beatles are grandma music. As a big Beatle fan myself I really don't see how someone can say that about a band thats made an effect on the music world even 30-40 years ater they broke up, I really don't see how IT makes them grandma music. If people don't like The Beatles thats fine people shouldn't force them to like the beatles. But when someone purposely stereotypes them into such a group such as 'grandma music' *rolls eyes* it's basically saying don't like this becuse it's odd or in a certain group, it's like deciding not to like someone because they're gay or is poor, when we really know nothing about them. Does anyone find that unfair? For all I know this person may not even heard any of the beatles songs, so how can they judge? Are they just judging by appearance. Ignorant **** heads.
One yea and for all beatle shitters about 95% of bands are influenced by the beatles

The Beatles aren't a band I listen to a lot but I respect them and I get angry whenever I hear someone insult them, they are much better then most of the recent bands, I had to explain to my cousin who listens to entirely metal that the music he listens to wouldn't even exist if it weren't for The Beatles (Ozzy has said they are by far his biggest influence and Ozzy was part of what was considered the first heavy metal band)

They are not "Grandma Music"! You can STILL here and see the band's influence on music, culture and fashion today! I go to the conventions and I can tell the world that many of the fans 21 and under are at those venues by choice...They were NOT dragged there by older relatives!
No... The Beatles are a band for all ages. To disrespect the Beatles is to disrespect every band, song (even genres such as country) video, and fashion ( such as clothes and hairstyles) that came after 1964. They really change the world. I for one am most grateful they did.

Whether it's the Beatles or some other band, there's always going to come a point where a large group of people are going to put down a certain style of music simply because it's older, and never mind the influence that it's had on the future.
I'm sure there are people today who think that Nirvana is old and pointless, and others who continue to recognize the influences that Cobain and company had on the genre.
Would there have been rock and roll if there hadn't been jazz? Would it have existed if there hadn't been blues? Probably not, but that doesn't keep young people from scorning the blues and the jazz.

Well, ignorance breeds prejudice. They obviously have never listened to The Beatles. But, The Beatles were influenced by Bob Dylan and Muddy Waters (just to name a few) and turned that into the most influential music of all time.
So, when someone says The Beatles are "Grandma Music",
you can just laugh inside and think to yourself "What a Dumb Sh*t".

you have a component. The Beatles have been very prevalent with persons who're now grandparents. They stopped making music interior the early 70s, so in case you listened to them on the top of their recognition in say 1970 and you have been say 18 on the time you would be on your mid 50s now, and doubtlessly a grandparent. the element with regards to the Beatles that maximum of on the instant's young infants don't comprehend is what a phenomena they have been of their day. no longer that yet another band could no longer have performed it, however the Beatles are the catalyst of what made rock and roll what this is on the instant. there have been different bands around on the time, like the Rolling Stones, yet they did no longer have the "it" ingredient that the Beatles had. The Beatles lined numerous older music via black artists like Chuck Berry. whilst Caucasian young infants (who had the $) chanced on what the source of those songs have been, it blew the music international huge open. previous to the Beatles, you in no way heard a Chuck Berry music on a appropriate 40 AM radio station (all there develop into on the time). of direction Elvis Presley develop into extensive too, yet he develop into frequently an American element. The Beatles have been a international sensation. There quite is not any artist in todays industry which you would be able to learn how to the Beatles, no one has been in a position to reproduction the promoting and marketing & political effect that they had and no one probable ever will. The Beatles in no way got down to do what they did the two, they have been in simple terms interior the remarkable place on the remarkable time with the remarkable music. i detect myself changing stations whilst their music comes on the radio myself. It develop into great then, yet that develop into 40 years in the past. Songs like the day previous to this are nevertheless great, yet that music first looked on the help album in .....1962 (whilst i develop into 4)? additionally undergo in suggestions that the Beatles looked appropriate with regards to the time that FM radio began to bypass mainstream alongside with domicile stereos, long playing 331/3 albums....numerous issues converged. So the "element" with regards to the Beatles isn't plenty that their music develop into that great, this is what they characterize to the music industry and on your grandparents technology.

That's right. The Beatles may be a very old act, but they were definately a BIG influence in the culture of their time and they help shape music into what it is today. Fact--like them or not---it is a fact. Why does their music still sell like it does even today? Because they are icons and still relevant to a lot of people.

Some music is timeless and knows, no age boundaries, as it should be. Who made the rule anyway that you have to be a certain age group to enjoy some particular style or class of music? Some moron apparently. I'm 55 and I love music from the 40's to the present time. Yep, I'm a grandma too!
