i posted a question yesterday about my burning smell and white puff of smoke and many of you said to check the brake calipers. my question is: can i drive the vehicle somewhere to have a pro look at it or is it unsafe (the idea of "brakes" and maybe the brake going out makes me think i need to stay put and not move the vehicle for safety reasons). thanks for your answers. they really do help!

depends how far to the mechanic and do you drive it to work everyday? If the mechanic is closer than your work, drive it to the mechanic to fix it.

Try looking under the car at the inside of the wheels and see if you find any wet areas. If you do, then do not even attempt to drive it.

Had the same thing happen to me..With ours, we just took it off, and it reset it self, but then down the road it happened again.. We did have to have it replaced...Just drive slowly, and dont go too far!

Actually, the guy above is probably right..If it is clamping down already, tow it..
