If you see something that looks like an enormous mosquito, it may be a crane fly. Like mosquitoes, crane flies are true flies (Order Diptera), but they belong to a different family. Crane flies are very common, but are harmless. They don't bite.

Because sometimes you don't remember the exact quote and you misquote it.
You either forget parts of the quote, or you attribute it to someone else. Misquotes can happen and sometimes they're big and they fly and bite you on the ***.

The mosquitoes here are so large we train them to hunt frogs. If you slap them, they slap back. One sprayed me with mosquitoe repellent, just to reduce the competition. Of course, male mosquitoes are huge but don't bite. The females need a blood meal to obtain missing hormones to lay viable eggs.

People are eating better so it provides the mosquitoes with a good source of vitamins and nutrients.
Also, same reason human babies are having larger birth rates. Food Genetics. Thus people are the source again.

Misquotes? Oh, brother, I guess you mean mosquitos, the flying , blood sucking insects and not a quotation that's been repeated incorrectly. Thanks for the laugh.
