Ever hear of Hugo Chavez??
The Venezuelan.
That's who makes HD oil
Citgo makes that CRAP in Chicago.
Consistently about the worst performing oil in a direct comparrison to everything else available.
Sometimes it puts in a fine showing and stages valiant battle for 2nd Worst
>>>>>>>>>>>>
Citgo was owned by Oxy a few years ago.
Last year their Ceo made $416 Million,,
Like,,1.14 Million a DAY.
(That lil' .14 Million sounds Puny & not worth noting---
That's $140,000 per DAY,,,almost $6,000/HOUR 24-7)
So World's Biggest Scalper made HD oil for a while
Then,,,Then they sold it to 7-11.
So HD Oil was "7-11 Oil" for a few Years.
(I always wondered how many Harley Experts & Afficionados realized they were running Convenience Store Oil?)
Now it's Hugo Chavez Oil.
I have Zero prob with Venz/Chavez/Etc.
But "Our Government" either HAS them on their Axis of Evil Hit-List,,,,or still in cue as 1st or 2nd Alternate with Castro and others
...................
None of that matters.
All that matters is that it comes in a fancy looking "Official Package"
Unless what's IN the bottle matters to anyone more than what's ON the bottle.
It's a good thing though.
If ya ever need Harley Oil on Sunday Midnight or whatever,,,just cruise around to 1st Convenience store and load up on the cheapest stuff on their shelf.
No worries about "mixing oil".
Lottsa Dollar Stores around here have it also.
But they usually want a $1.29/qt.
I pour it in the cracks in my driveway to kill the grass,,,since Diesel got so expensive

Harley-Davidson oil is currently manufactured by Sunoco. In industry standard four-ball wear testing, Harley Davidson's own "genuine" motor oil produces the HIGHEST wear scar vs. other leading motorcycle oils!

Harley-Davidson and all meteric bikes that sell oil under their name contract it out to the cheapest producer of oil so that they make a bigger profit on the oil sales. Your best bet is to buy a brand name oil.

I don't know who produces their oil, but if you are running synthetic, you should use Harleys syn3. Mobile 1 and Valvoline synthetics I heard are too slippery causing the roller bearings not roll like they are supposed to. It's what they call "bearing skate".
