The record holder for the fastest "climb" is Colonel Marmaduke Farnsworth , of Huckleberry , England . Before the start of the climb on 21October1939 , the colonel decided on having his favourite meal of hot peppers , raw garlic , pork 'n beans , extra hot chili , half a dozen tacos , and a jar of super hot pickles , all washed down with a 12-pack of beer .

About 15 minutes before the climb was to begin , the colonel complained about a rumbling is his stomach , and a feeling of gas building up . The rumbling got louder and louder , then at 3:37:01 pm (Nepal time) , the colonel let loose with a fart that could be heard for miles !

Unwittingly , this action propelled him at supersonic speed up the side of Mt. Everest , and landed him on the peak at exactly 3:37:16 pm ................... a record 15 seconds that remains unbroken to this day .
