Yes ANYTHING in that region triggers oil prices, thus no real effort is made for lasting peace. When you pay at the pump ,you are in effect paying for the lack of leadership of our foreign policies. The oil companies with their paid lackeys at the highest level of our government knows that terrorism, discard, and human suffering are very profitable.

How long will Americans continue to support those candidates who have willingly climbed into bed with big oil, subverted the meaning of our constitutional goals, and invite more terrorism upon their own people?

Take a look at this chart, maybe then you will be able to see who facilitates this "terrorism" and who is behind it.

We will always have reason to interfere in the Middle East. Most of these reasons are related to oil. We tend to pay a lot of lip service to ending human suffering and promoting peace, but at the end of the day our motives are always much more selfish than altruistic. Wars have been fought in the Middle East since the beginning of time and I suspect they will continue to the end of time given the extreme levels of animosity between the different players. Even though I can understand the need for our involvement at certain points, I honestly believe it is time for us to stop meddling in situations where our own security is not at direct risk.

The US has good relations with Abbas, the leader of Fatah. Hamas was the predominant party in the government until recently, when Hamas attacked Fatah in the Gaza Strip in order to take-over the area.

However, both groups have their radical factions that swear to the destruction of the State of Israel, as well as exhibiting hatred against the US.

We are in a world fight against terrorism. Hamas is recognized as a terrorist organization. Hamas is financed by Iran. Seems to me that there are not many dots to connect on why we should be concerned. Having said that , it is also our fight against Human rights violations by the Hamas that we must be concerned.
