I am an American living in the Philippines and the answer is NO. You must have an exit ticket or return ticket before you will be allowed into the Philippines.

Allow me to add that as Bob said, Anything is possible if you are not asked or if the officer is nice, but legally the answer is still no.

You are taking a chance.

If you can get a one way then go for it, but make sure when you get here your able to get a return ticket as soon as to touch down as if you get checked for a return ticket you might find yourself escorted to the ticket counter by customs to buy one, now you could by a ticket here to the Philippines and a ongoing ticket to Hong Kong which will allow you to enter with no problems and then before you fly to Hong Kong get a ticket from Hong Kong to the USA. Make sure you have 6 months left on your passport before it expires and you will get a 21 day visa when you arrive which can be extended for another 38 days. Happy travelling

I dont think there should be any problem about that. Ive never heard of US citizens having a hard time getting around the Philippines. Make sure the Mileage is valid immediately after the last flight you make.. you dont want to get stuck here for more than you wanted would you?

Yes you can buy a one-way ticket. I have done it before with no problems. Upon arrival they will ask you how long you plan to stay and MAY or MAY NOT ask to see a return ticket. At the time my wife (filipina) was living there and I only needed to mention that I was there to visit my wife and there were no more questions. It helps to be polite and don't try to BS them. Of 6 or 7 trips I've made there lately I have only been asked about my return arrangements once and then I only produced a printed itenerary from Yahoo Travel. No problems. If you have time to get a visa from the Phils Embassy, do it that way. The one time I did that, there were no questions at all.

It is required to have a return ticket and sufficient funds to support yourself when touring the Philippines. Most airlines have to check this before you board, as the airline is fined if they allow you to enter a country without these items, They might have to put you on the first flight back to your own country.

Sorry, buy a round trip ticket. Avoid the hassle.

If the immigration officer asks for a return ticket you can tell him that you wanted to buy it locally because you heard that ticket prices from Manila are 30% cheaper than from the USA. If you want to make sure however, you can call the Philippines consulate office in California and ask but make sure you get the complete name and position of the person you spoke with so that you can mention this to the immigration officer when you enter.

You can only purchace a one way ticket here and be boarded if you are a dual citizen or have a vaild visa here. You do not have to have a round trip ticket but you must have a further on destination such as Singapore to show your intentions of leaving after youtr 21 day tourist visa expires.

i dont think so. if youre not a citizen of the country youre travelling to, they dont usually allow entry unless you have a round trip ticket. try contacting Travel PH at 1-800-210-1019 or check-out www.travelph.com. they'll be able to answer a lot of your questions. God bless you!

Pay a little more for the round trip and you will put to rest immigration's worries. Its kinda like "measure twice and cut once".

Hope this helps.
