I'm glad that you've posted this.
There is representation of everything on both sides of the fence and yet, these foolish mud-slingers continue to point out only the conservatives.
Unless they can provide what they base their campaigns promises on, I trust no politician, regardless of their beliefs.

Oprah Winfrey is not a Scientoloigst, she's Protestant. Just because she interviewed him doesn't mean she's shares his religion.
Neither is Matt Lauer. Don't you remember Cruise screaming at Lauer because Lauer was questioning the idiotic beliefs?
So, your entire premise is based on entirely wrong statements. The only politicians who are/were practicing Scientologists were Sonny and Mary Bono - Republicans.
Who did Travolta go to in order to ask for help when Germany declared they are a business and not a religion (true, though they are a cult)? Bob Ney, disgraced conservative Republican (redundant, I know) who was happy to take up his cause.
I'm sure there are plenty of liberals who are Scientologists. I'm sure there are plenty of conservatives, as well.

You don't have both oars in the water? You said "Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey and Matt Lauer reject proven economic facts like capitalism and free markets" This makes no sense at all they are 1000 times richer than you.
How do you think they got that rich?

All these so called experts on religion in this forum are completely missing the point!! Scientology is not a Religion but a pervasive cult fostered by a wacko sci-fi author!!! All cultists are followers and crutch users who for some reason cannot explain their own existence

How can anyone trust a Christian who believes in God .
Any rational person knows that religion is nothing more then a hoax perpetrated by those in power to control the actions of those with weak minds easily lead by anything they hear .
Some wacko in Scientology is no more of a problem then some wacko in Christianity .

Scientology isn't a "liberal" thing. I'm a liberal (at least on social issues) and I've known that Scientology is a dangerous, manipulative, greedy, lying, scamming, brainwashing cult for a long time. You can check out some of my past answers to make sure I'm telling the truth:
An overview of Scientology (in my own words):

Is Scientology a cult? Yes, & this is why:

Scientology in relation to God, Jesus and Christianity:

This is how they sell their cult to others:

You are guilty of over generalization in your accusation.
I do not believe in Scientology but, it is a recognized religion and the US does give people the right to their freedom of religion. You bashing Scientologists because you do not agree with their religion is just as bad as if you bashed the Jewish people because you do not agree with their religion.
If you do not respect their choice, at least respect the Constitution that gives them the right to their religion.

You just prove my point that Liberals live in this fantasy La La Land where logic, facts, and common sense do not apply.
By the way, South Park (Comedy Central) deftly ridiculed Scientology in at least one of their episodes. It's the one where they keep imploring Tom Cruise to "come out of the closet". Uhhemmm... enough said. Yeah, it's true there must be some watered down version of Scientology, because Greta Van Susteren can't be that stupid.
I just saw this video about Bohemian Grove in California. All these wanna-be, poseur, hippie-for-a-day types were chanting and making embarrassingly bad invocations to the "spirits of the river", etc. It was just so pathetic. These people had obviously never even spoken these phrases before, and it came across as so phony and contrived. But that is the Liberal mind. On some level, they realize that what they are doing is just ridiculous, but they don't care. It's La La Land. Think of them like little kids on an amusement park roller coaster giddily shouting "Whee, Whee.... we don't have to think! We're Liberals, we don't have to think! Whee, Whee, Whee. Not thinking is so much fun."
Think of the Hollywood types like Madonna. Here is a short excerpt from the website below:
"The lapsed-Catholic diva and former Material Girl has recently embraced a mystical form of Judaism called Kabbalah and announced she had taken the hebrew name Esther.
The Vatican has been holding a special summit with Catholic leaders from around the world, hammering out a way to deal with New Age religions and spiritual fads that pose a threat to the historic Christian faith.
Last week that summit singled out "Kabbalah as espoused by Madonna," plus several fad, quasi-Eastern religions."
I remember when Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston went to Africa where they would toy with becoming Muslims. They got the sanitized, untruthful account of slavery days, and both were weeping. They tearfully promised to give up carousing, drugs and liquor, and swore to be true to one another till they died. Gee, that sure worked out well, didn't it?

Not all liberals believe in Scientology. I'm proud to call myself a liberal, but I think Scientology is completely ridiculous. Please don't lump ALL liberals with L. Ron Hubbard.

You are so funny and I totally agree with you!! I love Scientology though because it's so funny. I think it makes the world a better place because it brightens up my day whenever I think of it because it's so ridiculous. I go into giggle fits whenever I talk about it.
You're right, how can we trust people that believe in Scientology? That would be irresponsible.
By the way, if you're a guy, your views on this subject make you really attractive. If you aren't a guy, well, I think you're hilarious!
=) Have a lovely day!
