it was a hit song for the late great Bobby Darrin in the 60,s
its correct title is Things
Every night i sit here by my window,
staring at the loney avenue
im not thinking of just how much i miss you
im thinking bout the things we used to do
thinking about Things like a walk in the park
Things like a kiss in the dark ( cant remember any more too many years ago)

Back in the 60 s someone else sang it with a more Country & Western male voice, not smooth crooning like Bobby Darin or Dean Martin (devoid of real feeling if you ask me). This was the version most widely played when I was a kid. His first name may have been Clay and he was Texan. He really made the song feel poignant and sad. Would love to hear that version again...

Maybe Toby Keith.. he's a middle aged singer, but he has been around for a while, which is why you might be confused about the decade.
MY LIST----- Toby Keith
Under an old brass paperweight is my list of things to do today
Go to the bank and the hardware store, put a new lock on the cellar door
I cross 'em off as I get 'em done but when the sun is set
There's still more than a few things left I haven't got to yet
Go for a walk, say a little prayer
Take a deep breath of mountain air
Put on my glove and play some catch
It's time that I make time for that
Wade the shore and cast a line
Pick up a long lost friend of mine
Sit on the porch and give my girl a kiss
Start livin', that's the next thing on my list
Wouldn't change the course of fate but cuttin' the grass just had to wait
'Cause I've got more important things like pushin' my kid on the backyard swing
I won't break my back for a million bucks I can't take to my grave
So why put off for tomorrow what I could get done today
Like go for a walk, say a little prayer
Take a deep breath of mountain air
Put on my glove and play some catch
It's time that I make time for that
Wade the shore and cast a line
Pick up a long lost friend of mine
Sit on the porch and give my girl a kiss
Start livin', that's the next thing on my list
Raise a little hell, laugh 'til it hurts
Put an extra five in the plate at church
Call up my folks just to chat
It's time that I make time for that
Stay up late, then oversleep
Show her what she means to me
Catch up on all the things I've always missed
Just start livin', that's the next thing on my list
Under an old brass paperweight
Is my list of things to do today

Dean Martin - Things
Every night I sit here by my window
starin' at a lonely avenue,
watching lovers holding hands and laughin',
thinkin' bout the things they used to do.
(Thinkin' 'bout things) Like a walk in the park,
(Things) like a kiss in the dark,
(Things) like a sailor boat ride,
what about the night we cried?
Things like a lovin' wow, Things that we don't do now,
thinkin' bout the things we used to do.
Memories are all I have to cling to,
and heartaches are the frames I'm talking to.
When I'm not thinking of just how much I loved you,
I'm thinking 'bout the things we used to do.
(Thinkin' 'bout things) Like a walk in the park...
I still can hear the juke-box softly playin',
and the face I see is there belongs to you.
No, there's not a single sound,
and there's nobody else around,
but I just mean thinkin' 'bout things we used to do.
(Thinkin' 'bout things) Like a walk in the park...
And the heartaches are the frames I'm talking to.
You got me thinkin' 'bout the things we used to do.
Thinkin' bout...

I never heard this song until I traveled to Spain (Costa del Sol) to a pub called "Shenanagans" and there is where I heard an Irish man sing it and also to another pub called the Irish Affair to hear our friend Christy, also an Irish lad, sing it. I really like that song.
