1. Get into the properties of each drive (C, D) and click disk cleanup to free diskspace
2. delete cookies, temporary internet files by getting into IE properties.

The difference between a hard drive and a garbage can is that a garbage can is commonly lined with a garbage bag, making it easy to clean out.
The best solution, I've found, is to copy the good stuff to another drive, and then do a format.

you can move your files to USB/other disk then format
