at my last antenatal the midwife check me ove and said the baby is 4/5ths down what does this acually mean

Usually doctors use the word effaced and a percentage. Basically what it means is that your baby is that far down in the birth canal. The baby is getting in the position to be born vaginally !

I would think that means that the baby 1/5 away from being in position for delivery. At 36 weeks I would say that it right about on target.

It means your baby is 1/5 off being full engaged!! yaaay!! i am almost 40 weeks pregnant, my bub is also at this stage so congrats your bub is in perfect postion... read the link for more info if you wish... goodluck!!
