Is this what seperates the strong from the weak, being able to keep the promises you make to yourself no matter what?

This is what is meant by that phrase, 'you can only love another as much as you love yourself.'

Would you break a promise or would you make a promise you couldn't keep to your parents, significant other, children etc?

You are you're own final arbiter, and a witness that cannot be impeached; if you cannot honour yourself, you cannot honour anyone.

"Promise" like "love" is a word that needs to be viewed from different levels. A self promise made in front of a witness clearly carries an additional burded to a silently thought promise...

I think it's because you can't hold yourself against you if you don't keep a self promise.

It's becaue of the little guy that lives in your head that rationalizes everything. I keep firing him, but he keeps showing up for work everyday
