If you are young your periods may not have established a regular pattern. There are many factors that can influence the period cycle - from stress to diet.
There is no need to 'freak out' but it's worth mentioning it to your doctor.

How old are you? If you just recently started having periods your cycle could still be straightening out. If you are worried you can go to your doctor to make sure that there isn't an underlying condition.

Young women usually have missed or irregular periods. You didn't mention your age.
It could be also stress, rapid weight loss or gain, being really active all of the sudden.

Are you on birth control? If not, I suggest talking with your doctor about it. My daughter would go months without her period, and we took her to the doctor and she was put on birth control to regulate her period. We haven't had a problem since. :-)
