Take a friend with you - who can watch stuff when you need to pee.
Have a good box with a lid to keep your change in and put notes straight in your pocket.
Put price labels on everything.
Take a packed lunch and flask and don't park near the burger van (or the smells will be too much temptation !)
Take loads of change and be wary of people trying to buy small items with large notes.
Be prepared to haggle (especially with asians- not being racist here, it's just how they do it - they even haggle in shops)
If you have lots of small stuff keep an eye on kids (some have light fingers)
I know this sounds rather on the negative side but I used to do a lot of boot sales !
On the positive side as long as it's a reasonable day you should have a great time and meet a lot of very nice people.
Once you've done one you will want to do more - it's addictive !!
Have fun

First you need to clean the stuff and put the stuff in your car day before you goto carboot sale. Then you need a lot off coins, when i went i took 40 pounds of coins. You need table put your stuff so people dont need bend down on the floor, take pack lunch that will save you some money as well, take some plastic or cloth to cover the your stuff if it rains on the day you goto carboot sale. You have to think what price you want sell your stuff and how far you want come down in price. You need two people to go because one want goto toilet the other be selling the stuff. You have to pay fee on the carboot sale and could be 7 pounds or more. If you go early and pack quick on to the table then you wont get a crowd around your car but if you go late you will get a crowd around your car.

Make sure everything is clean (have seen some disgusting stuff on car boots!) and price marked before you go.
Take loads of change, carrier bags and food and drink and a good sturdy table (which you put in last!!)
When you get there, park up, put table where you want it - then lock car and go away for a coffee. This avoids the mob when stuff can get stolen because you are otherwise occupied. When you go back, they will have moved on, so you can set up in peace.
Tis actually good fun - take a friend and enjoy your day!

try to find on where the sellers can set up first and the buyers are let in at the same time because usually if you get to a car boot, even at 6 in the morning, soon as you open your boot everyone dives in rummaging and it's awful!
