Cricket is mainly a bat and ball game and the outcome of the match dependupon the runs scored by each team. If cricket is played in the rain, bowlers will not be able to bowl as the ball will be wet and batsmen will not be able to score runs as the ball will not travel fast when hit by the bat. Further since the ground will be wet players can get injured due to slippery in the ground.

Cricket never happens when it's raining because when water get onto the pitch it drastically affects the quality of the pitch (ie encourages grass growth, can widen cracks & can make it extremely slippery)...
That is why you see covers over the pitch whenever it is raining...

that's not a question but no it doesn't. It's hard enough to hit a ball that's coming at you at 60-90 miles an hour in good light, the clouds make it harder to see by a great amount and therefore making it harder to catch as a fielder. Plus as you generally bounce the cricket ball the play would be greatly reduced by a wet wicket

Would you stand in front of someone flinging a little rock hard red missile at your head at 90mph with the ball skidding and climbing unpredictably on a wet slippery surface, and with reduced visability due to the lower light levels??
no, didn't think so...
