You all know the voice - it's one of the great classics in all of cartoons. I've recognized the dude in commercial spots on cable and in other cartoons, ("hey - that's Shaggy!") but I never caught the name that did the voiceover.

I just checked the Wiki and indeed, Casey Kasem did Shaggy from 1969 to 1997. I guess Hanna Barbera and cable networks kept him around for other things as well.
I respect Casey Kasem much more for being Shaggy than for the Top 40.

Casey Kasem is the most familiar voice from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Billy West (Ren & Stimpy, Futurama) played Shaggy in the 1999 direct-to-video movie 'Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island"

Scott Innes also took a turn as Shaggy in the following three direct-to-video movies. 'Scooby-Doo and The Witches Ghost', 'Scooby-Doo and The Alien Invaders' and 'Scooby-Doo and The Cyber Chase'. Scott Innes also took over the voice of Scooby-Doo for the late Don Messick on all four of the direct-to-video movies.

Casey Kasem has returned to voicing Shaggy.

Frank Welker, who has played the voice of Fred Jones since 1969, has taken over the part of Scooby-Doo.

Why Scott Innes isn't the voice of Scooby anymore is a mystery only Velma can solve!

Too much information? Probably.
