YUK i know the feeling when i moved to a new appartment they where everywhere and they multiply unbelivably. they are good at hiding too, what the is on the market now is a gel and a pest controller will dab little bits in every dark corner and where they are common (best to do it all over the house) and it attracts them and kills them and also makes them sterile so the stop breeding. also the is the spray but you have to leave the home for a day or helf aday. the gel is effective BUT cocroaches lay eggs and they take a month or so to hatch then depending on condtitions a few months to become adults so the problem can start again!! depending where they lay eggs this can be elliminated, usally they like electrical appliances the insides are dark and somwhat warm. the gel is effective for a few months so it ok, but if you live in an appartment and other appartments are infested it could take longer because it will kill the ones in your appartment but if in other appartments the infestation is still happening eventually it will spread again

I had the same problem when I purchased my home a year ago. I bombed the house at least 10 times using as many roach bombs as possible. (almost one in every room) of course you would have to leave the house for a few hours. Do this over a couple of weeks. You can get and exterminator but if you also do not cork around all the opened cracks in the walls they will continue to come back. Since I have done that I have not seen one roach since.

Your health dept. has nothing to do with roaches. On the other hand an exterminator does. The first thing I would do is eliminate the roches foor source. If they have nothing to eat, then they will not live there. Don't leave food on the counter and empty your trash can daily.
After one week of making thier "home" miserable for them, call your local exterminiator. The roaches will already be on the way out due to your actions. Now take some professional action help them get moved on out.

With your home so encroached with pests like this, your only hope is an exterminator. For every roach you see, there's ten more in the walls so, there's no way your going to get rid of them yourself. The exterminator has a six week plan for total extermination. They come in and tell you what has to be done, you follow directions and he comes in for the first spraying.
After the he'll come back again for the second, to get the eggs that hatched in the meantime. Then he comes in again after another six weeks to make sure you have a clean place, he'll spray one more time.
It's not that expensive and there a for sure treatment, go for it.

Call a professional and have it tented. They put a large tent over the whole house and then pump in lethal gas based pesticides.... this ensures they penetrate all the crevices and kill anything in the house. This way youre sure not to have any bugs crawling around when youre showing it to a potential buyer.
