ah man, I love them all... the heartiness and richness of German foods are sometimes the only way I can be satisfied, saurkraut and riesling with a good wurst and some saurbrautton and leipkuchen for dessert, oh yeah... Irish food, with thier traditional style stews and roasts make up much of classic American cuisine, and a good colcannon is hard to pass up, beats french fries anyday.
Can't get enough of Greek foods, fresh flavors of oil and wine and vinegar, and those are just the ingredients! Greek salad and baked lamb, yogurt and gyros, ohh... gyros, mmmm, forget subway, a gyro is the perfect sandwhich, strong herby meat and a clean fresh yogurt sauce with lettuce, tomatos in a pliable flat bread... that's a gift to mankind right there.
and Italian... oh wow, there's too many levels and dishes from Italy, not even a full blooded Italian may get to try them all in a lifetime, just region to region differences in agriculture and human culture will make something like pizza an entirely different affair just kilometers away... I mean, Calbria pizza, with hot peppers and garlic is so different from tradional Napelly style pizza, which is an entirely different beast from Arab influenced Scillcily where wonderful seafood inspired pizza can be found. And that's just pizza, haha
if you want to explore, just go to a restaurant, and don't eat just to satiate, eat to enjoy and understand culture, understanding where menudo comes from makes mexican culture come alive, and knowing how Germans preserved thier foods makes much of thier history come alive for me. I love food, love eating and cooking, I hope you do too.
