i can't quite remember how to work this problem out but to double check your answer you can solve it again...that is to say multiply everything together again and see if you get the right answer

Sorry, but unless you have a typo in
25x^3 - 45x^2 + 8,
the factors are
25(x + 0.382878)(x - 0.495232)(x - 1.687646)

If your expression is
25x^3 - 45x^2 + 8x,
the factors are
x(5x - 8)(5x - 1)

The correct answer is

x(5x - 8) (5x -1) ==>

(5x^2 - 8x)(5x -1) =
25x^3 -5x^2 - 40x^2 + 8 =
25x^3 - 45x^2 + 8 ==> the original equation

very close...

if you factor out x you have
x(25x^2 - 45x) + 8

then factoring 25x^2 - 45x + 8 using the FOIL method you have

x(5x - 8)(5x -1)

In other words change (5x + 8) to (5x - 8) and you are 100% correct.

Very well done!
