No, would be for instant, yes after some years. Lava movement is not effected by the earth rotation around it self so it keep the gravity and keep the air we breath. Yet half earth plants will just die so half earth population of animals and a lot of humans since there is a constant night. If the earth rotation around the sun stooped we will stuck with one season which will also affect the life of many creatures causing long term elimination.
Scientifically the earth shall stop rotating around it self and rotate the other way around after some thousands years for a period of about 40 days.
Amazingly I found out something interesting in the Islamic culture says that the earth shall rotate backward after stopping for 40 days and that was about 1400 years ago. Its ether luck or amazing genus or he was really a prophet

If you mean that Earth suddenly stopped in its revolution and rotation, althought that defies the laws of physics, what would happen is those on the opposite side of the sun (in darkness) would eventually freeze, while those facing the sun would fry. Simple as that. Those on the sides may live on normally.
So would we instantly die? No, it'd take weeks if not months. And only those who could not travel to regions of stable temperature.

Yes. I think if Earth was no longer spinning on it's axis then the centrifugal force which reduces the effects of gravity on our bodies would stop and we would be crushed by our own weight and the weight of the atmosphere.

Well, that depends on how fast you consider "instantly". But yep, we'd pretty much die, alright.

Your question is about an impossible condition. Therefore, any real attempt to respond is worthless.
