Thanks for taking the time to read this,Im in a sticky situation and need some advice.I work in IL.I have worked for fast food for 5 years.I have been a mgr. for almost 3.A few months ago I was at work and another manager assaulted me, with an open hand to the face "slap".I did nothing to provoke this.I was so shocked I just walked away. This had ever happened to me before. The next 2 days I went on like nothing happened, until finally it bothered me so much I told my store mgr what happened. The next day my store supervisor called me into the back office, in the office were my owner, supervisor, store mgr, and the other mgr who assaulted me. The mgr admitted to them that she slapped me, after denying it.Then they kept asking "Was it playful?" I said no it hurt there was no bruise or anything, and no witnesses and the video footage was to shaky to tell, but she admitted to slapping me.She continues to harass me so i quit1 day notice, now they wont give me my check, or my 2weeks vac pay?

honestly i would contact a lawyer. this is wrong, and worse when made by a manager, and then nothing to be done about the offense. then to make matters worse, they hold your earnings...they cannot do that without a reason (like you didn't return your uniform).
i would try the labor board first! this needs to be reported, and actions should be taken against the manager as well, she even admitted it to you and other witnesses!

fight for your rights as a person! don't let people get by with treatment like this!!!!

Hi,

sorry you're having such a tough time - bullying is horrible.

As for your problem with your employer - you need to go to Citizens Advice - you can probably get assistance to sue them with Legal Aid to pay your costs.

Also, consider reporting your co-worker to the police for assault - that will make them wake up.

That's the first step, next write a letter to the head office of the company, explaining what happened in full - give all the details. Demand that they investigate why your back pay has been withheld as well as why thebullying was not stopped, and inform them that you will take legal action if necessary.

After that, contact the national newspapers - one thing companies like that hate is bad publicity.

In the meantime, you need to get another job.

Good luck

I wonder why she felt the need to slap you. Unless she is phycho I'm sure she had some reason. You should have reported it right then and not waited.Maybe you can draw charges against her if it was really that bad.I don't want to sound like I am downing your problem.

Call the corporate office and if that won't work call the labor board that will let them know you mean business.
