how can I patent an idea. I have no written material, yet. and its software based. no code. just an idea

Google has a great site just for patents. You can search patents and get info on them. www.google.com/patents

hmmm...i think you get it notorized or something right? Maybe make a powerpoint presentation or report explaining how it works in theory and see if you can present it to a patenting firm for funding...?
