My friend told me he uses it as a substitute for salt. Ironic how we use the same ingredient for lethal injections!

It tastes salty, but not very good. It is used as a salt substitute by people who must restrict their salt intake. You will find it in the grocery store by Morton Salt as "salt lite".

It tastes terrible and doesn't work (for me) as a salt substitute. There is a big difference between ingesting something and having it injected into your bloodstream. You inhale air all the time, but air injected into the bloodstream can be fatal.

Potassium chloride is taken to correct potassium deficiency that often occurs in people to take diuretics to control blood pressure. I take potassium chloride in tablet form for that reason. Some people take it in liquid (dissolved) form because they have problems taking large pills. They have told me it is terrible tasting.

potassium chloride can be used as a salt substitute for food, but due to its weak, bitter, unsalty flavor, it is usually mixed with regular salt, sodium chloride, for this purpose to improve the taste. It is also used in medicine, scientific applications, food processing, as a sodium-free substitute for table salt (sodium chloride), and in judicial execution through lethal injection.

You can buy some at a health food store.
Get a little container.
Sprinkle in on your food like salt (NaCl).

To me it tastes, like regular salt but sharper.
I kind of like it.
