Can anyone help me do the operation and simplify for this x^2 + 14x + 49 over x *x^2 - 7x over x^2 - 49? Thanks a bunch

x^2+14x+49=(x+7)(x+7)
x*x^2-7x=x(x+7)(x-1)
x^2-49=(x+7)(x-7)
therefore cancel end up with x(x-1) over (x-7) and then 2x-1 over x-7

If what you wrote is right, you are asking like a/b/c and that would be a x c / b.

First let us do c/b.

(x^2 - 49) / (x^2 - 7x) = (x + 7) (x - 7) / x (x - 7) = (x + 7) / x

Now we need to multiply this with the first term.

(x^2 + 14x + 49 ) (x + 7) / x = (x + 7)^2 (x + 7) / x = (x + 7)^3/ x

Please remember that the brackets are very important in such problems and if I have read your problem wrongly, the solution will also be wrong.
