No, but it will absorb into your skin.
People with mercury poisoning often go insane - it affects the brain.
That's where the term "Mad as a Hatter" comes from - in the 1800's people who made and sold hats would wear a stack of hats on their heads, to display them for sale. The hat brims were made of a soft felt, and to keep the shape, the hatter would let beads of mercury roll around in the brims. The mercury would be absorbed through the scalp, & the hatters really would go insane.
This could be useful in a comic... if you could fit insanity into the theme of what you are doing.
Or, the mercury could just absorb into the skin, and turn them into metal - like the T1000 in Terminator 2. That would be good in a comic too.

I had a little bottle of liquid metal mercury when I was a kid in the 1950's.
I used to pour some in my palm of my hand quite often, nothing happened to me or my hand at all.
I used to rub it on to silver dimes to make them really shine.
Rubbed it in with my bare fingers (don't try any of this at home).
I'm still alive and kickin.
Mercury poisoning is quite real.
Primarily it is caused by ingestion, taken in our bodies
with food or in our food.
It is accumulative, the body does not rid itself of any mercury that gets inside.
Be careful with it, it is a known carcinogen.
Mercury fumes from burning trash are dangerous.
Hope this helps :-)

Why? No! Mercury will not cause any hurt to the skin at room temperature. Maybe molten iron or copper drops will, by evaporating flesh in its path.

no. Your skin can absorb it and it's bad for you... that's all. It doesn't act like acid or anything.
