Is it because they are sweaty, or is there another reason behind that?

People usually take a shower after intercourse to feel clean and fresh. But more than the cleanliness it is important specially for women to wash after intercourse to prevent development of urinary tract infection. It is also recommended that women void before and after the deed.

I prefer to take a bath. In fact, I read that women should take baths regularly, so the water can get up there. NO bubble bath or oils. Just straight water. I've been doing that for a couple years, and I haven't had any infections or problems. I hate taking a shower with a man. Only one person gets the water! I live in Las Vegas, and the Mandalay Bay has the COOLEST showers. They have two showers across from each other, so you can stand about a foot apart, and you both get a shower! Isn't that a great idea?!

I do. Sometimes I have intercourse in the shower. But I like to shower after because of sweat and I dont feel dirty, but it is hard to explain. If you were to spill soda all over you, you would feel sticky right and take a shower? Thats how I feel after.

I don't.
I take a bath/shower before so I smell good.
Then, during sex, your real smell emerges and if you're with the right person, he will love that smell of me and I will love his.
Then you want to keep the smell of the other on you as long it's there.
So...certainly no shower after sex.
I would even see it at a personal insult if somebody I just had sex with would take a shower just after or even worse, ask me to take one! unless it's like Kayte said... bonding... together... so it's not really a shower to get clean, it's foreplay...
(now some people might rush to the shower in order to erase the evidence of their infidelity...)

the answer would be "maybe" why do you take a shower at any time? It would be for the same reason. ps. if you take a shower afterward because you think sex is nasty, then you are too young to be thinking about it, wait till you grow up.

My fiance and I shower afterwards for a couple reasons.
1. To get clean (Of course)
2. Because it is a good bonding experience. Being able to wash off your partner after sex gives you a happy feeling. :)

depends. sometimes, i want to wash and sometimes i just love to roll around in the wetness and keep it there all day.
