i just saw a educational video of accepting transgender
now, i understand some people are born with chromosome disorder and hormonal problem and whatnot, those are understandable
but what about those who are borned into a perfectly fine gender but somehow they feel like they are trapped in the wrong body
i think this question might offend some people here, but i want to understand the reason behind it
the video i saw involves child thinking they were born in the wrong gender, then fell into depression, then parents see only way to solve that is to start dressing the child the other way, then once the child hits adult age they want a sex change, and the parents are okay with that
please explain to me why

I truly believe it is the parent's right to accept their child as a transexual, because there is nothing more to a parent than wanting to see their child happy and healthy. With a dsorder like that, I'm sure it can be depressing, sometimes it can lead to suicide. But there are, from what I see, 3 types of parents out there, supportive parents, parents who need facts in order to be supportive, or absolute bigots. That is the way the world is. Thankfully, about 75% of the world's parents are supportive of anything the child wants or needs, so I see no problem in the matter.

I think these parents are OK with their child having sex change because somehow they feel sorry or they feel that it's their fault that their child is depress... But I believe that the child also need to understand that this thing happened to them because of a purpose.. I'm proud to say that though I'm gay, I never wanted to have a sex change. Not because I cant afford it, but because I am happy with my current state and i have friends that accept me as i am.

Well, is it right for a parent to accept that a child wants a harelip repaired, or a clubfoot, or a 'port-wine stain' removed?
Transsexualism (Benjamin's syndrome) is a congenital condition; it's a very distressing condition, and it's treatable. What kind of parent would not want their child to seek treatment for such a condition?

And for those using 'God' as an argument; Do you refuse medical treatment because *God* made you ill?
God made transsexual people too, and God gave us the knowledge and skills to treat it.

('Stella'; you're in the wrong thread, dear. This question is about *transsexual* people, not homosexual people)

The parents are okay with that because they want their child to be happy.

Though I'd definitely tell any kid of mine who wanted to do that that they're going to have to wait until they hit the age of majority before making a life-changing decision like that--that's not too much to ask, I don't think.

Why not? You only live once. If you can make yourself happy and not hurt anyone doing so, then why shouldn't you?

I think it's great that the parents are supportive.

Parents are supposed to love and support their children. What's wrong them doing that in any circumstance they feel is okay?

Actually Sex is God gifted but in this modern world every thing can be modified but the things which made by human is temporary and it doesnot have validity. And I think it is not the right things to do so.
