Online dating... as in going to an online service?

I'm a fan of them. Its tough meeting people now-a-days... unless you belong to an active church or some other social group, you are, at times, stuck with dating co-workers... not a good idea... or going to bars... when you have to wonder where you'll wake up.

I met my fiancee' on Yahoo Personals. We've been together now for a year and a half. The upside is that you can communicate as much or as little as you want.

The downside, I think, is that people tend to get where its like they are ordering from a menu. "Lemme see... I want a super model type guy who makes 100k a year and has a love for kids and sunsets"

If you do that, you take away some of the fun of discovery, you know? I would suggest that you keep an open mind about who you meet online. And make sure that when you meet in real life its at a very public place.

I'm sorry that your marriage is ending... especially after so long. Good luck to you!

Online dating is not for everyone.

If you are too honest, chances are you will be taken and get hurt in the relationship.

The best way to handle online dating is to take very slow. Talk on the computer for atleast 12-15 times and then if you feel comfortable, exchange phone numbers. Talk on the phone at different times of the day cuz you want to make sure he is not telling you to call certain time because his girlfriend or wife is not home at that time.

You should be able to talk at any time of the day. This will take approximately one month from the initial contact.

If he is still interested, he MAYBE the guy cuz the players would leave you by then. The first meeting has to be during the day time at a restaurant or a mall.

Good Luck.

I"ve done the online dating thing before. My current b/f and I met that way. It's toatlly okay. Online dating I think is safer than meeting ppl in a bar...ATleast you have some inclination of who he is with an online profile...Like grammer, and the way he answers some of his questions. You can usually tell if the pictures are really them or if they're fakes.
Just make sure you talk to them onine a few times, then on the phone for atleast a week or two, and then if you decide to meet, drive yourself to your date, and meet in a public place.
Don't leave with them, and don't take them home.

you do not understand if he's in an unhappy marriage, yet you're chatting with him on line. particular sounds like it particularly is an unhappy one, yet i ask your self whether his spouse is familiar with how undesirable that is. you do not understand if he's getting a divorce, basically which you have a topic going. You extra appropriate think of actual stressful approximately this, in view which you will break up, and he will stay married, telling you that he won't be able to have the money for to get one. you will then develop into the different woman and stay the way you're actually, thinking once you're able to have a date.

all in all online dating is ok however you need to becareful... go with a reputable pay dating service as some of the freaks like to go to the free sites....

also a word to the wise... if you were married for 16 years... you should take a year or two off from men to re-figure out who you are as a person seperate from a man.

Online dating is fine and a good way to meet people.

I was going to say "be careful", but really, meeting people in a bar isn't any safer. No matter how you meet new people, there is an element of danger.

Get a good picture...it makes all the difference in the world.

Sorry for what happened. Online date may avail you with a person but may not be the real person who is suitable for you, if you want atleast a good try give e-harmony a chance coz your traits are measured and you may ind you have similarities with the choices available.
But for anyone who would like a serious relationship, online may not be the ultimate answer.

Ok. My answer for this is: Online dating is fine. If you find someone you really like, then its time to take the next step: BACKGROUND CHECK
Seriously make sure you do one of these. You don't wanna meet a murderer or anything of the sort.
Please just be careful.
