If you have you're period. you can have kids. So yes! If you have any concerns, or especially if cancer runs in your family, go to a gyno!! Good for you! A lot of women a lot older than you are afraid of nothing. I'm proud of you, kiddo!! And while you're there ask her if your hymen is still in tact. A lot of girls break it just playing. :)

I gather what you mean is you have bled for a year ? Of you go - you dont need a gyno yet - a good GP will do the job for now . Talk to your mum ASAP . If you cant talk to mum ring the 1800 health number or go to the school office and ask to see the school nurse .

There's no need for you to see a gynecologist unless you are having a gynecological problem (say, heavy period bleeding or excessive pain) that your regular doctor can't solve.

In the US, the recommended age for getting a pap smear is 21 or three years after first sexual intercourse, whichever comes first.

Gynecologists (and all doctors) don't "make sure everything's ok." They check for specific problems or diseases.

I don't think it's necessary at your age, but if you really want to, then I'm sure you can go. Most of the info you read about such exams seem to say there's no point in going at your age. But see what your gynae says, maybe they'll think it's a good idea, or they'll just do an external exam.

No, you are not too young, especially since you have begun menstration. I don't know what your past question was, but seeing a gyno should not be a problem.

I went to the doctor at age 11 to get a pelvic exam after I first started menstruating.

No, you are not to young to go to a gyno. They have baby and small speculums to make it more comfortable for you. You don't have to sexually active to see a gynecologist. Even nuns need to have their equipment checked out.

Please, go see your doctor.
