Thinking takes time, practice. It's difficult. Most people take the simplest way out, the path that reduces energy needed. To really think things out and get answers is a long process, one that I've just begun. No immediate gratification there.
Immediate gratification and no responsibility come with mindlessness. It's just easier.

If the mindless and soulless truly rule the world (and I doubt seriously that they do) it is all they get, so let it go. Rule yourself, and prepare for the day when this world is just a memory of lessons learned and time spent preparing for eternity. If the mindless and soulless cannot rule themselves, how can they handle a whole world anyway? Someone has been lying to you. Maybe it's a test to see if you will believe them? Maybe they just want to find out if you can think for yourself, or you are one of those individuals who believe every silly story that's told to them. Stop listening to liars and learn to think for yourself!

It's all about POWER baby. The ones who crave it usually lack in the spirituality department...I mean just look at the Pope. He's been leading people astray for centuries as well as trying to rule the world.
Money and power and big business...and secret societies...and the Vatican...yes, corruption does tend to drain the soul I suppose...

I don't know about mindless.
But those who (I'll say lack moral fortitude, it's a bit less crude) lack moral fortitude are often much easier to trust, becuase they flatter. Whether they like or accept it or not, most people don't want the truth, they want hope. People who can give that to them without feeling guilty when they don't deliver have a huge advantage over those who try to be completely truthful.

I am guessing you are talking about the United States, even though technically we don't rule the world, we just give everyone our money and aide and try and protect countries from despots and dictators.
