not just to the earth but to any other planets? could this cause the sun too live longer or shorten its lifespan?

Nothing would be endangered in our whole solar system but life on earth, really.
Gamma rays don't heat, very few of them are actually intercepted by matter. But the few that are by our cells destroy our genes and create cancers. All life as we know it would be affected.
Actually the sun wouldn't budge ; its core itself emits gamma rays that are softened by its massive volume into light and infrared rays...

Nothing,the Sun emits Gama rays.
