No the mainstream media just cares about ratings and just reports the bad stuff. There are good things happening in Iraq that they fail to report. The mainstream media reports the news to help their political beliefs.

The reporitng that is being done is accurate. One sided, but accurate. The problem with the Lib media is that they only tell the morbid side and leave out all of the good that has been done. I will not go through the list, but basically we have brought Iraq out of the Stone Age in Education, Government, Energy, and Military. Not to mention all of the infrastructure America has built that would never have gotten built had we not deposed Sadam. When we see this war through to the end and the last terrorist is gone Iraq will be a free and democratic country. That last line will never be heard on a Lib newscast!

I use my life experience and that includes 20 years in the military, to justify my post.
I have been very liberal / democratic ever since I spent 8 months in the first gulf war.
And I have never changed my opinion since then.
I look at as many sources as possible on any given topic, but with so many idiot moves by this administration, its impossible not to learn a little on almost every scandal.
as an example, check out the link.

After what happened at the outset of the War; I think the Media has REALLY cracked down on getting out the TRUTH about the war in Iraq. They REALLY got "burned" when they swallowed Bush's rosy scenario about finding "WMD's", & Bin Laden, & what-not... And when NONE of that happened, & people start asking WHY the Media didn't see it coming either- they realised they shared some of the blame. On top of THAT, the very fact that Bush got voted into power TWICE anyway- shows how LITTLE people pay attention to politics. In the end, they GOT exactly what they voted for. ...

The news reports are obviously true... if they weren't true then the Iraqi government would say so. Just because the news isn't good doesn't mean it's not true. The government doesn't dispute the news reports -- they just say, "Hey look over there! It's an Iraqi that was able to vote and hasn't been killed (yet)... Obviously the war is going fine!"

The news is made up of tidbits of information and is far from comprehensive. Anyone who thinks that watching the news makes them well-informed is a total blockhead.

er... they have video... so that's something that's at least, to some degree, factual...
but to just say "I'm not there and I'm going to trust the government on everything"... sounds like a rediculously dangerous idea to me... on any issue...
you could say that about immigration... I'm not at the border, but does that mean I should just take Bush's word for it...
the economy... I'm not standing on wal-street?
anything really...

Nope, it's obvious, if H Reid has already called it a failure before the surge was fully implemented. If he doesn't know the Truth what do we know?
