A greatest common factor is the biggest number that each of the three numbers can be evenly divided into. Start by writing out the factors (numbers that go into) each number.
36: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36
54: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18, 27, 54
180: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18... well there's no point in continuing because there is no number past 18 that both 36 and 54 share as well. 18 is the biggest number that goes into all these numbers, therefore it is the greatest common factor, or GCF.

The answer is 7^3 which is 343. The first number is 7^7 second one can be converted to (7*8)^3 = (7^3)*(8^3) third one can converted to (7^2)6 = 7^12 The GCF is 7^3.

Factor each number and take those factors they all have in common:
36 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3
54 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 3
180 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 5
