"I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period."
- Sept. 11, 1992, quoting a PAT ROBERTSON newsletter.

"The feminist agenda is notabout equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."
- from a Pat Robertson's letter used to raise money to defeat an Equal Rights Amendment for women in Iowa

I expect insane nonsense like that from an extremest like Robertson... but what really scares me is that about half the people that answered actually agreed with him. What a bunch of sickos... These are the same kinds of people that would have fought against women's suffrage... The same kind of people that would have supported a man's "right" to beat his wife (which was not a crime in this country until fairly recently)... The same kind of people that get so caught up in their religious texts that they fly a plane into a f***ing building.

If I were religious I'd pray for these people... since I'm not I'll just shake my head in disgust.

Robertson, much like Jerry Falwell, is a repugnant, conniving, hateful, puss filled gas bag. 1. I wonder how he knows what "the Devil" said? 2. Does he really think that prior to Haitian independence, the island was free of disease, suffering and natural disaster? 3. You should see what he (and Falwell, et al) had to say about the 9/11 attacks and Katrina! Robertson is exactly the kind of guy who really makes Christians look bad, and provides the stereotype of the ignorant, bumbling, hateful Christian that a lot of the rest of the world thinks of when they hear the term American Christian." It's pathetic, really.

The feminist movement was sponsored by the bankers (Rockefellers) just so they could tax the other half of the population and break down the family. Sadly, it wasn't for a noble cause or to benefit women. :( I consider men and women equals, but my problem with feminism is that it seems to advocate a spiteful attitude towards men in general. I don't like that because not all men are abusive to women. There are many men in the world who are decent, kind and good.

Don't even get me started on Pat Robertson! He is nothing but a false prophet!! A true wolf in sheep's clothing. Most tele-evangelists who are in the electric church are very evil. They steal money from people (especially the elderly) through sick mind control! They did this to my grandmother, and it completely disgusts me!! But this is biblical prophecy. "False Christs and prophets will emerge and deceive millions." -Matthew 24.

Robertson has been caught doing the 'El Diablo' hand sign many times during his 700 Club broadcasts. If you're not familiar with it, it's like a "hail satan" type of hand sign that many of the elite use to communicate with each other. Do you know how gangs use hand signs to communicate with each other? It's the same thing. Please watch the youtube video.

I certainly am not a woman but will answer even though not invited, forgive the intrusion!
People like Pat Roberson are a real burden for all women! This is one of the main premises for organized religion, to give some otherwise worthless powerless men power over women and give them a bit of money as well. Although I certainly wouldn't consider the wealth stolen from the people by organized religions exactly small change!
If this wasn't bad enough the whole women's liberation movement was started by the international bankers so they would have another source of income to tax. Believe me it had nothing to do with liberation for women, just the opposite to make them into useful tools to help break up the basic family structure and weaken our country. Worked pretty well didn't it?

Wow--what DRUGS does Pat Robertson take???? What a hateful little peon.... of COURSE I don't agree with that holy rolling idiot....No man is my "head"... even when I was married, we were equal partners... in most things anyway...I sure would hate to be Mrs. Pat Robertson....to be led around on a sting like that by her PUPPET MASTER HUSBAND... not for me thank you----I'd LOVE to say what I REALLY feel about Pat Robertson and his lovely little quotes, but I would be booted off Yahoo answers for LIFE if I did it....

Trust me on this; this worthless piece of cheap goods Robertson isn't the only one. In 1998, at the Southern Baptist Convention, those ever-lovin', bible thumpers made it a mandate that the wife be totally subserviant to her husband in ALL things. The stink was so high that former President Jimmy Carter, objecting to the whole thing, left the convention and that wing of the church.

These are the same people who elected Bush..who try desparately to overturn Roe and who advocate whipping your children when they misbehave and other medieval and mid-Victorian behaviors towards women and children.

Their God is a mysogynist....fer sure..

These are the true fundies, folks.

Well, the first statement is in the bible. If it is taken out of context(like anything) it sounds condescending.
The second statement:
A little harsh sounding. I have a 92 yr old aunt, a 69 yr old aunt and a 71 year old mother. All were here before, during and after the 'feminist movement'. All of them say it's BUNK. We still don't get equal pay, we are expected to work full time AND care for the children and the home. We have taken the 'man' out of his place. He has NO idea what leadership is anymore. Women that want to stay at home now with the children are looked at with pity(don't you miss working?) and disrespect. Crap, yall, we are TIRED of being both!
And Ms. Gloria Steinem, the leader of that 'movement' that I didn't ask for, who was once quoted as saying about marriage,"'Legally speaking,' she said, 'it was designed for a person and a half."?????
She got married.

First quote: I suppose I agree to an extent, but I definitely wouldn't phrase it the way he did. Some more clarification is necessary so we don't assume that he means that a man should be a tyrant and his wife should submit to his every whim. When I get married, I expect my husband to do most of the leading because, quite frankly, I don't want to. I mean, I step up to the plate if I have to, but I have my own things to worry about. I don't want a doormat as my future husband.

Second quote:I think that it is definitely taking it to the extreme. I consider myself a feminist to some extent in that I think men are not superior to women, and we both have inherently equal value. However, I'd rather see the feminist movement focus more on basic human rights abuses against women in other countries instead of spewing their pro-abortion rhetoric that is so out of touch with mainstream America.

ROFL, men only have the illusion of running things. My husband may make the money (for now) but I say how it gets spent. end of discussion. If he wants something he will usually get it, but if I say no then he doesn't.

I decide everything with regards to the children, the house, the car, what he eats, and medical decisions too (even his) The only thing he has control over is his job, I stay out of that and I only call him at work if there is an emergency.

We are happy this way. Not everyone will be. But I think Pat should keep his nose out of any relationship that is working regardless of what the Bible says.

I wouldn't waste much effort trying to reconcile anything espoused by Pat Robertson.

This is the man who also claimed personal responsibility for having warded off all major hurricaines from hitting Virginia Beach (where his headquarters are located) throughout the 1990's.

I guess he stopped doing that after Isabel hit in 2003.
