I think a 12 year old should be trusted enough for a small "puppy" relationship. Such as he can come over and watch tv and eat dinner sometimes, etc.. or go to a movie (supervised without her knowing might help) lol.. stuff like that. Never let him go in her room, dont let it turn into a "grown up" relationship (assuming you are the mother asking)

Hmm...well, yeah, I would think so. The only time that I would get worried is if a twelve year old started to get very serious. Most of the time it's just "puppy love," but, then again, I will be seventeen next month and I still think that I'm too young too date!

No...
You're not too young to have a "boyfriend" if by "boyfriend" you mean a person you're attracted to of the opposite sex (close to your age) to hang out with. you're way too young for a serious relationship. You could get your heart broken, or get into things that you don't need to get into at a very young age. Believe me, the older you are when you start dating the better.

If you were my child you'd be too young and you would be on birth control young lady!! when I was 13 I was playing with Barbies still but now everything is going so fast and next thing you realize you are pregnant at 13 or 14 because you are trying to grow up too fast, slow down you have all your life to have boyfriends..

Yes. I think you should wait until your are a few years older to date because at this point you are too vunerable and that is how kids end up pregnant. If you want to have a "date" then it should be parent supervised.
However i went on my first "date" at the age of like 9 (3rd grade) we held hands and talked on the phone... nothing more

I'm 11 and kids in my school have been dating since they were 10, its just a way to become really good friends, a real boyfriend is some1 that will drive u to dinner and a movie, so its just a saying to make younger kids have another reason to think there all that! lol

No necessarily. If they are holding hands, talking on the phone,etc.. little things like that it is okay. The definition of boyfriend and girlfriend is different when you are that age. It is more of a I really like them, and not really romance like you would think of in an older teen relationship. As long as it remains an innocent relationship I do not see much of a problem.

I think it is okay to have a boy that is a friend, but not a boyfriend. Maybe have her friend come over with a group of friends and keep them all in a public location in the house.
