bill mazoraski's HR for the pirates to win the 1960 world series. this is the only time that there was a game 7 walk off HR in world series history. bill was not a guy known for hitting with power. also i think bill wambsganss who made the only unassisted triple play in world series history is a good choice. this happened in the 1920 world series. he played for the indians. this was a big moment as well that doesnt seem to get much notice.

In my opinion the greatest moment for me was in the 1977 World Series when Reggie Jackson hit 3 homeruns in game 6 to lead the NY Yankees to an 8-4 victory and a World Series Championship against the LA Dodgers, I loved it so much because I was there. During the Regular Season anytime the NY Yankees play the Boston Red Sox no matter what their records are is pretty exciting cause its the best rivalry in pro sports.

I would have to say 1989 AL Central Divisional tiebreaker when the Indians' Jake Taylor bunted and Willie Mays Hayes scored the game winning run from 2nd base. That play was amazing, and sent the Indians into the playoffs after their owner tried to sabotage the season.
Seriously, though, the one that still gives me goosebumps is the moment when Red Sox catcher Carlton Fisk was running up the first base line waving for the ball to be fair in the WS against the Reds.

The beauty of this game we love is that there are so many exiting and memorable moments in history. From Babe Ruth hitting the "Called Shot", to Joe Dimaggio's 56 game streak ending in Cleveland, Williams going 6-8 in a double header to become the last man to hit .400, to Cal Ripken breaking the Iron Horse's games streak. Jackie Robinson's first game, Pudge Fisk hitting the foul pole, the Rocket getting 20 k's twice. The list could go on. So, in honor of all the historic moments, I say the greatest moment was the very first pitch of organized, professional baseball way back in 1886.

Carlton Fisks HR in 1975 World Series.Capping off the greatest World Series game ever with a Home Run,priceless!Regular season, would Bobby Thomsons Home Run in 1951 be considered regular season? It was a playoff game, but wasnt it counted in the standings?Honerable mention:As a Cubs fan, Gabby Hartnetts Homer in the Gloamin' was probaly the greatest moment in Cubs history.

This is only my personally "was there" greatest moment, but enough of Larsen already.
August 1988, Dodgers trail by a run, bottom of the 9th vs Expos. They get one run to tie it, then, with Kirk Gibson on second, he scores on a wild pitch to win the game. From SECOND! What was also nice was being seated about 15 rows up behind the plate to really enjoy it up close. His MVP award over Strawberry that year might not be understood by those who only look at the stats, but he was the right choice for the award that year in my opinion.
Postseason: Well, I'd have to go with Gibby's pinch HR off of Eck in Game One, but I might be slightly prejudiced.
It was really quite a year for Dodger fans, Hershiser's 59 consecutive scoreless innings followed by his excellent postseason were that year too.

I think that the greatet moment in Baseball history in the playoffs was Don Larson's perfect game, Honestly, how much more clutch could a guy be? In the Regular Season, I'd say it was Bonds hitting 73, cheating or not, thats amazing. Funniest moment? Pedro Martinez driving Don Zimmer's head right into the ground, haha, classic.

For me it is a tie between Hank Aaron beating the Babe's homerun record and the Red Sox winning the World's Series.

That stupid Fisk dance home run was something the media put together AFTER the game. It wasn't shown in real time and it wasn't shown in the replay. It was shown half a billion times on the news. The news just showed the camera that was on him at the time and Boom the media made history. It was a farce that tv fans didn't even actually see at the time it happened. It's considered one of the greatest moments in baseball history because he did a frickin dance??? They lost the world series!!! Hello???
