Well, I only had one, but he never hit me, never hugged me. Never touched me at all. Since then, I've had 2 abusive husbands. I'm over it now. I won't stay around anyone who starts a confrontation. I leave.

I believe an abusive father is much worse. If a child has an indifferent father she can at least move through her day without fear. She may get love from other sources that make up somewhat for the indifference from her father. Of course she or he will have relationship issues but at least they won't experience the intense fear and all that goes with it, when they are abused.

Indifferent father does not give the emotional support to the child. Abusive father is damaging the emotions of the child. Seems to me the abusive father is more worse assuming all other factors remain the same.

I think indifferent.
At least, when a child is abused, h/she knows the Dad knows the kid is alive.
With indifference, I think most people never get over the resultant feelings of worthlessness.
Good luck

Being ignored is very mental abuse. But, abuse can scare physically and mentally. Unfortunately, this can pass to the next generation. Stop the cycle. When you have children remember what happened to you and DON'T DO THE SAME THING. Change the course.
