I know that Japan is in Asia. I don't have any information about the dietary habits of the praying mantis. Have you posted in a more appropriate category? Try Homework Help or one of the animal related categories.

unfortunately, somewhere in Asia and i was told that the people there actually eat mantises, or the other way around - basically eachother.

There are two questions. One for attention. Japan is in south east Asia near China and has lots of Islands.
Praying Mantises and for that matter all the creatures will eat many times till their stomach is full and mostly in day time.many flies think it is part of the plant and land in its hands and savoured by it.

Japan is located in the country of Asia. It is actually off coast and the fastest way to get there from the U.S. would either be in Hawaii, California, or Alaska.
