I mean come on.. it's Father's Day. Now a lot of gay people have to make the choice: March in the parade, or spend the day with their father (who may or may not even know they're gay, or is having a hard time accepting it). Seems wrong to me.

Excellent point. There are gay and bi fathers out there, as well as LGBT people who are close to their fathers. Now, for me it's a nice distraction, because my father died when I was seven, but that's not the damn point. I hope they schedule more wisely next year--and if I don't see any men pushing baby carriages, I'll know why!

The Pride in Grewnich Village isn't until June 24, the Sunday AFTER Father's Day.

Kris...you'll find that an aw full lot of fathers are Gay!
Yes...it's true....a lot of fathers out there are Gay.
I know this comes as a shock to some out there, but it's true.
Believe it or not....an awful lot of mothers out there are Lesbian! No, really....Lesbian. Some parents out there are even...God forbid....Bisexual.
Oh.....My.....God!
For a father to march in the NYC Gay Pride Parade, just because he's a father.....get the rope!
One day you'll get it....Gays and Lesbians are just like you...normal.
And it's OK to march on fathers day if your Gay.
Join the marchers, you might make a friend or two....
Peace be with you....-Vinny.

They probably should have picked a different day to have it but I guess it could always be worse. People could either bring their father with them, spend the morning before the parade with them, or spend that late evening with them. There are always ways of getting around things so you can have your cake and eat it too.

They really should hold them on separate days. A lot of gay people might be fathers and have to miss the fathers' day one!

Who's your Daddy?!?!

.......sorry, couldn't resist.

But yes, it is bad timing. Guess the Parade organizers no longer have a relationship with their Father, and this day just slipped from their minds.

Father's Day is NOT always on the same day or same Sunday in June, but the NYC Pride parade IS!
Get over it. It's just one year...you'll have PLENTY more to choose from!

Goodness...sometimes Thanksgiving lands on my Birthday...but I've gotten used to it.
No, I don't like it because it means I can't go out with friends...but you know...there's always the Friday after....

I GET OVER IT...SO CAN YOU

Ew, yeah, bad timing. That's just not cool. The Gay Pride Parade shouldn't coincide with another holiday, just because it takes away from the preexisting holiday. D:

Holding it on Fathers Day seems a wee bit tacky.

It might save my life-in the past when it didnt interfere with my family-I have had my life threatened on these events, as I give out literature about Jesus salvation and help to chose and power to win in Jesus. Romans 1 to be thankful, and worship the creator instead of the created. John 3 repented of sin and let Jesus into my heart to become my friend, David
