He had a rough childhood and his hole life... well even so he wrote very good poems, interesting ones, short-stories as well. The most famous it is the "raven" and he told people that it was his single poem in which he set a theme and thought about it very much. - the structure and all. (nevermore - the word that revolves the "story" on).
His life being so "bad" is a motive why he wrote so much about death and all things similar to it. But even so I say he was a horror poet and one of the bests. I love reading his work, gives me inspiration, though I don`t copy nothing from him. :P So who was Edgar Allan Poe? A famous writer :)

Edgar Allen Poe was a poet. He wrote rather spooky poems and what can only be classified as horror stories. Arguably, his most famous poem is "The Raven."

WHOA! He was an American Poet, a rather morbid one at that. While he is known mostly for his works, such as "The Raven", he is also known for being a drunk and dying a rather miserable death alone.

I live in Maryland, and he was from Baltimore. A check of the Maryland state site and tourism sites should give you some links to his information, works, and museums.

Oh, and by the way, that would be where the NFL team got its' name.
