I live in NJ and am looking for shows to set up a booth to sell my art. I know some shows you have to be accepted first to be able to sell but I am looking for a list/resource to be able to start. I paint on wood & canvas and build paper mache crosses. I need guidance from people who know. Thanks!!

Most areas have a local arts group. Get in touch with them (if there's a gallery or museum in the area, that's another good place to find out things) and they'll know what's going on in the local art scene, who to talk to, and probably the requirements for different shows.

Check the internet; check county fairs, etc. Check the VA, some of them have art fairs. Check art dealers. In many places, flea markets have the entire range of things, stuff to sale, wood, ceramics, income tax returns..
Good luck.
