i havent moved my car a single inch for at least 2 weeks now because i discovered the cable that hooks up to the alternator keep coming loose on its own and caused the battery to die but if i caught it before it ran the battery down to long the car would be fine so i the plug in with alot of pressure so it would stay in after 2 days i decided to put a new battery in and the car crunk right up i drove around for a full day and left it alone for 3 days and the battery was so dead it wasnt even funny so i decided to wait before i jumped and bought an alternator so i left it completely alone for about a week and a half and then went to check if it would still crank and nothing so i put the old battery witch i had charged up back in and it crancked so i left it alone thinking if i leave it alone the battery wont run down guess what its dead as a door nail and the interior lights havent even been turned on what could it be?

the actual cable not belt i'm not talking about the belt i'm talking about the back side of the alternator you know like an iron has a cable coming out the back that plug the actual conector not a belt or anything like that

You have a current drain on the battery. Something is staying on even after you turn the key off. A radio, or light, or some other device you have hooked up.

If you have a amp meter, hook it in series with the battery and the cable. Then start pulling fuses until the current drain decreases. That will be the circuit that is giving you problems. good luck

first of all,i'm confused by your statement, cable that hooks up to the alternator keeps coming loose? do you mean the serpentine belt, keeps coming loose? i dont know about a honda, but on GM cars they have an automatic tighter that will break and wont keep the belt tight.i would suggest driving the car to someplace like auto-zone and they will test your alternator/battery to see if they are good and or charging.the charge for this is usually free.two heads are better than one.good luck!

you,ll have to have a draw check done on it to determine if it has anything on it that could be running it down, also try this ,take the battery cable off it one night and see if you put it back on in the morning, see if it will start,if it does it may not be the battery but something on the car running it down ,that's the only way you,ll ever know for sure is run a check on it,good luck with it.
