1 cup = 240 cubic centimeters

So if your friend lost about 1/4 of a cup, she lost 60CCs

Google has a very useful unit conversion calculator.

Simply type this into Google's main search:

"1/2 cup in cubic centimeters"

without the quotes, and it should give you the answer of about 118 cubic centimeters. This works for all kinds of units (as long as they are units of the same type). You can't convert pounds into miles, obviously.
