Craig Lefferts of the Padres hit a walkoff homer against the Giants' Greg Minton on April 25, 1986:

Took me a while to find that one!
For the record, it's been done 30 times. And the last starter to win a game with a walkoff was Steve Hargan of the Indians, on June 19, 1967.

Odalis Perez hit a homerun in the ninth inning of a game in 1997, but it wasn't a walk off. He just won the game 1-0 and Eric Gagne got the save. I couldn't find any info on a pitch hitting a walk off. Probably early in the 1900's though when pitchers like Babe Ruth actuall could hit. The weren't called walk off home runs then though.
Dennis Eckersley actually coined the frase (Walk-off) due to the pitcher walking off the field with his head down....

Just for those who say that they wouldn't keep a pitcher in in that situation the Cubs have a couple pitchers that they let pinch hit. In the Cubs-Mariners 13 inning game earlier in the week Carlos Zambrano was given the chance for a walk-off. Naturally he struck out.

I don't think a pitcher every has because they ussually bring in a pinch hitter in that situation.
